NEW YORK, NY, April 5, 2016 — NBPA Executive Director Michele Roberts announced today that Daren Jenkins has been selected to serve as the new NBPA Director of Communications

Jenkins becomes the NBPA’s primary liaison with the national media, including all print, broadcast and new media outlets. Jenkins responsibilities will also include issuing press releases and statements on behalf of the NBPA coordinating all NBPA press conferences, and other tasks.

“Daren is an NBA communications veteran. His knowledge, experience and league-wide contacts will allow him to make a seamless transition, to the benefit of our players as well as members of the media,” Roberts said. “He is a welcomed addition to the NBPA management team.”

Jenkins comes to the NBPA after spending 10 years in the communications department for the Washington Wizards. In his role with the Wizards, Jenkins served as a liaison between the players, front-office staff and media, while traveling with the team and assisting with the day-to-day operations of the communications department. Jenkins was also responsible for the planning and execution of press conferences and special basketball events, as well as all external communication, including press releases and media advisories.

Jenkins is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a B.A. degree in Communication.
