NBPA Names Alfie Brody as Chief Brand and Communications Officer
NEW YORK, NY, September 27, 2023 – The National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) today announced that Alfie Brody has been named as the Chief Brand and Communications Officer of the NBPA. In this role, Brody will lead the strategic direction for brand management, creative efforts, and communications across all units of the NBPA to ensure the organization is building upon its mission to protect, support, and amplify the collective group of NBA players, on and off the court. Among other responsibilities, Brody will serve as a key stakeholder on the NBPA's leadership team to further develop the long-term brand value of the NBPA in the commercial marketplace through new and existing experiences, activations, brand partnerships, branded merchandise, and more.
Brody most recently served as the Vice President of Global Marketing for Take-Two Interactive, a role he had been in since 2014. In this role, he oversaw the marketing efforts for high-profile video game titles, including NBA 2K, WWE 2K, and PGA 2K, developing comprehensive marketing strategies and campaigns on a global scale. At Take-Two Interactive, he built NBA 2K as one of the leading interactive entertainment brands globally and helped scale revenue into the billions for the NBA 2K business.
Brody has also served in other marketing leadership positions, specifically as the Director of Marketing for Gatorade (2010-2014) and the Director of Global Marketing Partnerships at the National Basketball Association (2007-2010). He holds a B.A. in Psychology and Education from West Virginia Wesleyan College, an M.Ed. in Sport Management from Xavier University, and an M.B.A. in Marketing from Case Western Reserve University, Weatherhead School of Management.
