It is a 50-question multiple-choice examination and has a time limit of three (3) hours. The exam is open book and prepared notes may be used while taking the exam.

The exam and review session are administered at the NBPA Headquarters, located at 1133 Avenue of the Americas in New York City.  The exam and review session are administered each year after the application window has closed.  Start times for both the exam and review session are distributed to applicants after their NBPA Player Agent Application is approved. Attendance at the review session is optional.

Compliance includes, but is not limited to, paying an annual fee, attending the mandatory NBPA Agent Seminar for Certified Agents which is held each year in either May or June, providing updated contact information and negotiating at least one Player contract within a five-year period.

  • For Agents with 10-19 players: $5,000.00
  • For Agents with 20 players or more: $7,500.00
