NEW YORK, October 22, 2015 — NBPA Executive Director Michele Roberts expanded the team, adding Jared Zwerling as Senior Multimedia Writer to enhance NBA player content on the union’s digital and social platforms. Mr. Zwerling will produce feature story, video and social content that dives into the different aspects of players’ on- and off-the-court lives and interests. He will also appear on local and national TV, as well as radio shows to discuss player stories and season developments.
“Jared’s extensive knowledge of the sport, strong relationships with the players and experience in developing compelling and authentic behind-the scenes content will help make our digital and social channels must-visit destinations,” Ms. Roberts said. “We are excited to have Jared on board and help expand our reach.”
Mr. Zwerling started his career with the NBA, and has since worked at ESPN, CBS Sports, Sports Illustrated and most recently Bleacher Report, where he was an NBA Senior Writer and enhanced the quality and credibility of the company’s basketball coverage. Mr. Zwerling’s entrepreneurial drive has included founding his own website called SportzUndercover.com, developing public relations initiatives for emerging sports brands, managing his own after-school sports career program and collaborating on the launch of a smartphone app called MyFlare.
Mr. Zwerling earned a B.S. in Media, Culture, and Communication and a M.S. in Sports Business—both from New York University. He is a Miami, Florida native and resides in New York City.
