NEW YORK, NY, October 30, 2015 — NBPA Executive Director Michele Roberts has selected Erica McKinley to serve as the Association’s new Chief Operating Officer. Ms. McKinley has been a practicing attorney for more than 17 years. Her legal experience includes civil and white collar litigation, together with conducting internal investigations while in private practice at both Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP and Arnold & Porter LLP. In her government practice, Ms. McKinley served as the Chief of General Litigation and General Counsel for the Department of Human Services, both within the District of Columbia Office of the Attorney General.
In those roles, Ms. McKinley continued her litigation practice with an emphasis on Labor & Employment, supervised a Litigation Section and conducted internal investigations on behalf of the District of Columbia government. Most recently, she served as Associate General Counsel of Global Security and Aviation/Travel Ethics for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. In that capacity, she conducted internal investigations on the company’s behalf in the United States and Latin America, responded to investigative demands initiated by various government regulators and managed outside counsel retained to assist in those areas.
“Erica’s vast supervisory, investigatory and management experience render her more than qualified to oversee and assure that the Association operates at the level necessary for us to pursue our mission,” Ms. Roberts said. “I am thrilled that she has agreed to join us.”
