About The Program

Off The Court is a formal transition program to support the successful pursuit of life goals and relationships following your career as a professional basketball player. Off the Court is a new approach to building and succeeding in your post-NBA career and life.Our goal is to build a brotherhood, a community among players to celebrate transition and create supportive spaces that nurture stability, wellness and growth.

PLAYER PROGRAM EVENTS

NBPA/HBCU TOP 50
JULY 25-28, 2019 – ATLANTA, GA

The National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) along with the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), specifically the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), and the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) have developed a strategic partnership which will be showcased during the first ever NBPA/HBCU Top 50 Camp. The Top 50 Basketball Camp will provide a unique educational and athletic experience for student-athletes from the SIAC and the SWAC. This unique partnership has also been created with the goal of cultivating and creating coaching and talent pipelines for current and retired NBA players who are exploring the possibility of transitioning into careers in intercollegiate athletics.

CAREER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM EVENTS

NBPA ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAM
JULY 16-18 – LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA

This three-day program explores the Entertainment (Television, Film, Music) industry and its various opportunities. Includes site visits as well as presentations and interactions with high-level executives in the entertainment industry.

Accommodations: Hotel and program costs are included

Registration: $2,500 deposit is required to secure your spot. This deposit will be fully refunded at the end of the program

SPORTS AND MEDICINE PROGRAM EVENTS

NBPA HEALTH SCREENING

A free cardiac and orthopedic screening available to all former NBA Players with onsite consultation with cardiologist and physicians.
