A formal transition program to support the successful pursuit of life goals and relationships following your career as a professional basketball player. Off the Court is a new approach to building and succeeding in your post-NBA career and life. Our goal is to build a brotherhood, a community among players to celebrate transition and create supportive spaces that nurture stability, wellness and growth.
The OTC 23.2 Workshop was named and created to remind players of the importance of building an equally powerful set of “Off the Court” skills for success. It is a two-day program designed to give initial structure to NBA players planning that next career step after professional basketball.
- Ensure players understand their full range of benefits, determine eligibility, and can access all of their player benefits, annuities, 401K and pension plans.
- Provide valuable insight from OTC research of former players’ critical elements of success
- Construct a comprehensive, player-specific action plan.
- Allow players to become a part of the OTC program build-out
For former players, success in your next life chapter will hinge not on 48 minutes of game time but on your ability to train, practice and apply life skills, with new teammates, for the other 23 hours and 12 minutes—23.2—of the day.
