OVERVIEW

The NBPA is responsible for certifying and regulating player agents. The Association screens the backgrounds of agents and monitors all contracts to ensure players receive fair and quality representation. Regulations Governing Player Agents establish the requirements and standards for the conduct and activities of agents certified by the NBPA. Registration for the 2025-2026 NBPA Agent Application is now closed.

Please note that the application window will open on September 8, 2025, and close on November 7, 2025, at 11:59 PM Eastern Time.  The NBPA Agent Exam will no longer be administered virtually and will be replaced with an in-person exam that will be held in New York City during the month of January 2026. More details will be provided once you are approved to sit for the exam.
