Certified NBPA Agents

Overview

The NBPA is responsible for certifying and regulating player agents. The Association screens the backgrounds of agents and monitors all contracts to ensure players receive fair and quality representation. Regulations Governing Player Agents establish the requirements and standards for the conduct and activities of agents certified by the NBPA. Please follow the links in this section to obtain an Application for Certification, view the Regulations Governing Player Agents and find other information relating to representing NBA players.

The 2019 Agent Application is now closed.

Announcements

The 2020 NBPA Certified Agent Examination will be administered on Friday, January 17th and a complimentary review will be offered on Thursday, January 16th.

Applicants will receive their assigned review and exam schedule upon notice of their approved application.

Please be advised that the 2020 NBPA Agent Review and Exam will not take place at the NBPA Headquarters. The location will remain in NYC and will be provided applicants scheduled to sit for the exam.

As a reminder, the NBPA does not provide application status updates, however, applicants should expect to receive notice regarding the approval or denial of their application by December 13th, 2019.
