KARL-ANTHONY TOWNS AND GABE VINCENT ELECTED, JAYLEN BROWN RE-ELECTED, AS VICE PRESIDENTS ON THE NBPA EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

NEW YORK (Feb. 16, 2025) — The National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) held its annual winter meeting of the NBPA Board of Player Representatives earlier today and elected new members to its deeply experienced player-leadership roster, the NBPA Executive Committee. Karl-Anthony Towns and Gabe Vincent were elected as the newest Vice Presidents on the NBPA Executive Committee, while Jaylen Brown was re-elected for a third term as Vice President.

Towns and Vincent will replace Malcolm Brogdon and Bismack Biyombo, who both opted to step down at the end of their second terms as Vice President. The new three-year terms for Towns, Vincent and Brown will commence immediately.

Brogdon and Biyombo were first elected to the NBPA Executive Committee as Vice Presidents in 2019 and were both re-elected for a second term in 2022. During their six-year tenures on the Executive Committee, Brogdon and Biyombo were an integral part of historic moments in the NBPA’s history, including navigating a return to play during the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 and the successful negotiation of the current collective bargaining agreement in 2023.

“It’s been amazing to collaborate with Malcolm and Bismack on the Executive Committee over the last six years,” said CJ McCollum, President of the NBPA. “They’ve shown such dedication to the well-being of our players, and we know they will continue to stay close to our work. It’s great to have Jaylen continue to make an impact as part of the Executive Committee, and we’re excited to have fresh blood in KAT and Gabe. They both bring unique perspectives and experiences that will no doubt drive the NBPA to greater heights.”

As one of six Vice Presidents on the NBPA Executive Committee, Brown, Towns and Vincent serve as part of the Union’s leadership committee involved in strategic planning, business affairs and policy making decisions to carry out the NBPA’s work on behalf of all players.

“I’m excited to join the NBPA Executive Committee and honored that my peers voted me into this position,” said Karl-Anthony Towns. “I’ve been in the league for a decade and have never missed a Union meeting; I’m proud to be stepping into a more formal leadership role at this pivotal time. The players power this game, and I want to be in a position to find new ways to deliver value for my fellow players, on and off the court.”

“I’m thrilled to be on the NBPA Executive Committee; especially since we now have a former player leading the way in Andre,” said Gabe Vincent. “With the new media rights deal set to kick in, and the potential for players to make more than they ever have before, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to help shape the future of our game.”

The members of the NBPA Executive Committee are:

  • CJ McCollum, President

  • Grant Williams, First Vice President

  • Mason Plumlee, Secretary-Treasurer

  • Jaylen Brown, Vice President

  • Jaren Jackson Jr, Vice President

  • Donovan Mitchell, Vice President

  • Garrett Temple, Vice President

  • Karl-Anthony Towns, Vice President

  • Gabe Vincent, Vice President
