The 2023 NBPA Foundation Golf Invitational held at Las Vegas Country Club on July 10, will support the global philanthropic and social entrepreneurship efforts of current and former NBA players

NEW YORK, NY, June 27, 2023 — The National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) Foundation will host its inaugural celebrity golf event, the NBPA Foundation Golf Invitational, a PGD Global Production, on July 10, 2023, at the historic Las Vegas Country Club. The tournament will bring together current and former players to benefit their charitable initiatives and social entrepreneurship efforts.

The significant fundraising event pairs current and former professional basketball players together for a round of golf in a scramble tournament format. Professionals anticipated to attend include: Chris Paul, JR Smith, Alonzo Mourning, Reggie Theus, Greg Nared, Marc Eversley, Steffond Johnson, Jason Richardson, Jodie Meeks, Bobby Jackson, Jimmy King, Jalen Rose, and Mike Woodson. 

The proceeds from the NBPA Foundation Golf Invitational will support the Foundation’s Matching Player Grants program. Through the initiative, current and former players partner with the NBPA Foundation to receive a matching grant designed to amplify their charitable giving and philanthropic efforts in their communities. To date, the NBPA Foundation has partnered with more than 500 current and former players and distributed more than $17 million in grants to hundreds of organizations and initiatives across more than 30 countries.

“We are continuously striving to help our current and former players support their communities in innovative ways,” said NBPA Foundation Executive Director Stephanie Rawlings-Blake. “Through the golf invitational, our goal is to further support and champion the achievements and activities of our members’ off-the-court efforts and to highlight how they are positively impacting communities.”

The NBPA Foundation not only provides strategic financial assistance but also amplifies the efforts of its players on a global platform, to expedite and augment their positive influence. The Foundation has awarded millions of dollars in direct and matching grants to hundreds of organizations around the world.
