NBPA Returns to Milan to Host “One Court” Experience for Players

From June 13-15, One Court Milan will give players an opportunity to attend sessions at SDA Bocconi School of Management and learn from leaders of global luxury brands

NEW YORK, NY, June 13, 2023 - The National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) in collaboration with SDA Bocconi School of Management announced today the launch of One Court Milan, which will run through June 15. Designed with players’ international interests in mind, One Court Milan has been created as a platform for players to network and learn from founders, creators, and C-suite executives of global luxury brands. The experience will be curated by faculty at SDA Bocconi School of Management to ensure players are able to apply the information from this experience towards the development of their personal brands on a global scale.

One Court Milan signifies a continuation of the NBPA’s efforts to assist and support players in recognizing their influence on the international stage. From 2017-2019, the NBPA’s International Business Academy (IBA) provided classroom learning sessions as well as on-site experiential activities to help players better understand the different facets of international business and marketing.

Alongside the One Court Milan experience, the NBPA Foundation will continue its third year of support to the Tam Tam Basketball program based in Castel Volturno, Italy. Tam Tam, a grant recipient and partner of the NBPA Foundation, is a youth basketball program that supports children born and raised in Italy to immigrant parents. Through their programming, Tam Tam hosts youth basketball tournaments throughout Italy with a focus on removing barriers to youth sports, building community, and providing mental health resources.

“As the game continues to grow globally, our players are gaining more and more exposure to global business opportunities and brands around the world,” said Matteo Zuretti, NBPA Chief of International Relations and Marketing. “One Court Milan is about further developing them as global citizens and businessmen by tooling them with the knowledge and the network to continue to build their brand and create impactful partnerships. We are excited to be back in Milan this week and to kick off the program with this amazing group of players.”

About the NBPA

The National Basketball Players Association is the union for current professional basketball players in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Established in 1954, the NBPA’s mission is to protect and support the rights and talents of our players, magnify the power of their collective will, and amplify their voices as leaders who will transcend sport and society globally.

The NBPA advocates on behalf of the best interests of all NBA players, including through the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements, the filing of grievances on behalf of the players, and counseling players on benefits, educational and post-NBA career opportunities. Business opportunities are generated by THINK450, the subsidiary of the NBPA charged with managing the players’ group licensing rights.

Dedicated to preserving the legacy of its members, the NBPA Foundation provides support and assistance to persons, communities and organizations around the world that seek to improve the lives of those in need.
