The NBPA Launches “The Pledge” to Drive Voter Participation and Civic Engagement


The first 1,000 fans who take The Pledge will receive a commemorative bag filled with merchandise provided by the NBPA, Champion and DoorDash

NEW YORK, NY, September 22, 2020 – As players use this season restart as a platform to bring attention to social justice and racial inequality, the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) in partnership with Champion Athleticwear and DoorDash, is inviting fans to take The Pledge as a commitment to drive voter participation and civic engagement. In taking the pledge, fans will have an opportunity to choose an action item(s) from the NBPA’s The Pledge list to ensure their voting eligibility ahead of the 2020 election. Action items include but are not limited to, checking your voter registration status, completing a voter registration form and requesting an absentee ballot.

The first 1,000 fans who take The Pledge will receive a limited-edition NBPA commemorative bag filled with an exclusive collection of merchandise provided by the NBPA, Champion Athleticwear and DoorDash. Each bag will be labeled with a number between one (1) and one thousand (1,000) as confirmation of the limited giveaway and no additional bags will be made available after this release.

The commemorative bag will include the following items:

  • Champion Athleticwear T-Shirt
  • DoorDash Gift Card
  • NBPA Collectible Cup Set
  • NBPA Cowbell
  • NBPA Mask
  • NBPA Official Pen
  • NBPA Socks

Fans 18 years or older are eligible to take the Pledge and can sign up at https://nbpa.com/thepledge/.
