TOP RANKED TEAMS SET TO COMPETE IN THE THRONE HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT
The Throne will take place March 27-29 at American Dream in East Rutherford, N.J. with games airing across NBA TV, NBA YouTube, and the NBA App
NEW YORK (March 6, 2025) — The National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) and Gold Level Sports and Entertainment (GLSE) today announce the eight boys’ and girls’ teams set to participate in The Throne high school basketball national championship tournament. Tickets to see the top-ranked high school basketball teams compete in a single-elimination, bracket-style tournament for the title of National Champions are now on sale. While some of the participating teams will play under their club program name, the players are all students at the same high school.

Among the 16 participating teams, The Throne will feature players selected for the 2025 McDonald’s All American Games* and nationally ranked players in the 2025, 2026 and 2027 classes.

Launched in 2023 by the NBPA and under the guidance of GLSE’s player advisory board, including Danny Green, Harrison Barnes, Fred VanVleet, Dwight Howard and Rudy Gay, The Throne was designed as a curated platform for elite high school basketball players to compete on a high-level and develop important life skills off the court. The championship teams in the boys’ and girls’ bracket will also receive a grant from the NBPA Foundation to support their respective athletic programs.
